Wind Chill is the feel of the air temperature caused by the wind. As the wind blows the air feels colder than the actual thermometer temperature. Using a wind chill calculator or a table allows the calculation of the wind chill for a given temperature and wind speed combination. With temperatures below freezing and if there is a wind, even a light breeze, the chance of suffering from frostbite to any exposed skin increases. Depending on the amount of wind and ambient temperature, frostbite can happen within minutes
Heat Index
Heat Index is how hot it feels when the relative humidity and the temperature are calculated together. When the relative humidity is high, even with moderate temperatures the heat index can be dangerously high. Using the heat index calculator or a table allows the determining of the heat index and helps to protect against heat-related illness.
