Island in the Sky, one of the four districts of Canyonlands, is among the easiest areas to access for short visits. The map features contour lines and elevation details. It provides mileage between intersections for trails and roads, as well as river mileage for those exploring by boat. Different road types are clearly marked, indicating whether a route is suitable for high-clearance vehicles or standard highway vehicles. Mountain bike routes are color-coded for ease of navigation. Additionally, recreational features are highlighted, including campgrounds, picnic areas, points of interest, boat launches, and scenic overlooks.
