South Fork is located at 8209 feet in the western part of Rio Grande County in Southwest Colorado. The town is at the confluence of the South Fork and Rio Grande rivers. South Fork is encompassed to the north, west, and south by Rio Grande National Forest. Just minutes from the Weminuche Wilderness Area and the San Juan National Forest. Where the National Forest isn’t, BLM land can be found.
Hiking

In town, you will find everything you need to prepare for your adventure. Restaurants, stores, and shops. Ramones Mexican Restaurants is one of the best Mexican Restaurants I have ever eaten at. Mountain Pizza and Taproom have Pizza, Beer, and more. Tiny Timbers Coffee Bistro offers a variety of Coffee drinks and Delicious food. Rainbow Market is a Grocery Store with a Sporting Goods section and a Hardware Store plus RV supplies. If you need outdoor supplies check out Doc’s Outdoor Sports.
